Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my e-mail and password not recognized on the new site?

Answer: We have imported the e-mail address from the old FSGenesis.com site. Because the old site was poorly maintained, we were not able to automatically import previous purchases into the new site. You can simply use the Forgot Password link with your e-mail address to log in on the new site. If you have a new e-mail address, you can either create a new account, or contact us with the old and new e-mail address and we can update that for you on the new site.

Why are there no downloads in my account on the new FSGenesis.com site?

Answer: We have imported e-mail and billing addresses from the old FSGenesis.com site, however, because the old site was not properly maintained, we were not able to automatically import previous purchases into the new site. For the past 18 months, we have restored past purchases with provided order information. We're sorry to say that as of November 1st, 2014, we are no longer able to provide access to purchases made before the launch of the new FSGenesis.com site.

Is my Galaxy Membership still active on the new FSGgenesis.com site?

Unfortunately it is not. When FSGenesis was started 10+ years ago, nearly all of the data that we used came from publicly available sources, and therefore had no legal agreements or royalties associated with its use. However, to get the very highest quality data for our products, FSGenesis made a move approximately 3-4 years ago to begin purchasing and licensing these higher-detailed data sets to produce amazingly high quality scenery. Starting at this time, no new Galaxy Memberships were offered for sale on our website any longer.

There are 2 important points that need to be mentioned:

1st Because the terms of the Galaxy Membership violate our service agreements with those that now supply the data used to create our high-quality Flight Simulator terrain, we are forced to discontinue all aspects of the Galaxy Memberships going forward. We understand this was not the original promise, and we are sorry to go back on that initial position. However, even the newest Galaxy members have had well over 2 years of all-you-can-eat content, which we hope has been a very fair trade. Unfortunately, we will not be able to grant access to any previously downloaded or un-downloaded content under the Galaxy Membership.

2nd The Galaxy Membership program ultimately led to the financial collapse of the original FSGenesis company. There is now a new management team, and we are trying rebuild the structure of the company to be financially viable and continue to bring you the quality and service you are used to. Unfortunately, unlimited software downloads of all products on our website is not something that we can offer any longer. Nor could any company that hopes to stay in business.

We hope you can understand our position on this matter, and apologize for the inconvenience it may cause you.

Does FSGenesis.com still offer a Galaxy Membership or Yearly Subscriptions?

FSGenesis.com no longer sells or supports Galaxy or Yearly Subscription. For more information on this, view this FAQ.

How do I access the purchases I made outside of the Galaxy/Yearly Subscriptions like NEXTMap titles?

Unfortunately, we were not able to automatically import accounts and previous purchases into the new site. For the past 18 months, we have restored past purchases with provided order information. We're sorry to say that as of November 1st, 2014, we are no longer able to provide access to purchases made before the launch of the new FSGenesis.com site.

How do I install the products purchased from FSGenesis.com?

All of the downloads from FSGenesis.com are compressed files, or ZIP files. Within the zip are the necessary files for the software.

Most of the FSGenesis software has an ease-to-use installation file (EXE or Application file). Once you open the downloaded zip, simply double-click on the product to install it.

The installation should locate your Flight Simulator folder automatically and install the necessary files to the proper locations. Once installed, check the documentation in the Start | All Programs menu for specific details on how to configure the Flight Simulator to recognize the new scenery.

On rare occasions, the installation may not install the scenery to the Flight Simulator main folder and therefore may not be easily added to the Flight Simulator. To correct this, uninstall the software from the Control Panel, or the Start | All Programs | FSGenesis... menu and re-install. During the re-install, check the path shown on the Destination Folder screen. Click the Browse/Change button and then select that path to your Flight Simulator's main folder. The default locations for the Flight Simulator are shown below. If you have installed the Flight Sim to another drive or folder, be sure to set that custom folder and location when installing the FSGenesis software.

32-bit system:
FS2004/FS9: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9
FSX: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

64-bit system:
FS2004/FS9: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9
FSX: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X

How do I install my purchases into Prepar3D?

As noted on the product information page, some of the titles on FSGenesis are compatible with the Lockheed Martin Prepar3D software. In order to install the software into Prepar3D, you can either click the Change/Browse button during the installation and change the folder path to point to the Prepar3D folder. Alternatively, you can continue the install to FSX, or a temporary folder of your choice. Once installed, you can then manually copy the files and folders from the install location into the Prepar3D software.

More detailed instructions will be available on this in the future.
